Why Tungsten Rings
Tungsten carbide sits among the hardest materials ever used in ring-making — ranked approximately 9 on the Mohs hardness scale and roughly ten times harder than 18K gold. For a ring with specific surface details, that hardness matters: conventional metals would soften and scratch away those details over time, but tungsten holds every facet and edge precisely as it left the workshop. Daily wear that would visibly degrade a gold or silver band simply does not register on tungsten carbide.
The finish durability is equally worth noting. The IP black coating bonds at a molecular level rather than sitting as a surface layer, meaning the dark tone resists fading through sweat, water, and friction in a way that standard black-plated rings cannot match. Tungsten carbide is also naturally waterproof and tarnish-resistant — there is no chemical reaction with moisture, no darkening from skin contact, no gradual loss of colour. For Singapore's climate in particular, that corrosion resistance is not a luxury feature but a practical one. Tungsten carbide is four times harder than titanium and twice as hard as steel, 10 times harder than gold.
