Why Tungsten Rings
Tungsten carbide sits among the hardest materials ever used in ring-making — ranked approximately 9 on the Mohs hardness scale and roughly ten times harder than 18K gold. For a ring with specific surface details, that hardness matters: conventional metals would soften and scratch away those details over time, but tungsten holds every facet and edge precisely as it left the workshop. Daily wear that would visibly degrade a gold or silver band simply does not register on tungsten carbide.
The finish durability is equally worth noting. The IP black coating bonds at a molecular level rather than sitting as a surface layer, meaning the dark tone resists fading through sweat, water, and friction in a way that standard black-plated rings cannot match. Tungsten carbide is also naturally waterproof and tarnish-resistant — there is no chemical reaction with moisture, no darkening from skin contact, no gradual loss of colour. Tungsten carbide is four times harder than titanium and twice as hard as steel, 10 times harder than gold.
